American woman living in Paris reveals ultra-simple ‘French way’ of removing makeup with just TWO cheap products – as she insists everyone should switch to the ‘easy’ method

An American woman living in France has revealed how you can take your makeup off just like a ‘French mom’ – and it only requires two products.

The information was shared in a video on TikTok by content creator Isabelle Bertolami, a mom-of-one who moved from New York to Paris.

Bertolami, who is also the co-founder of Propre Baby, often takes to her TikTok to share more about her daily life living abroad, and what it’s like to raise children in Europe.

In the clip, she explained that she was going to show the ‘French way’ to take off all your makeup.

‘You only need two things,’ Bertolami began in the clip.

‘You need the Bioderma Micellar Water, and you need extra large cotton pads,’ she said.

Bioderma is a French company, but has made its way over to the United States in recent years.

Its Micellar Water typically retails for around $18.99, and can be found at many drugstores, like CVS.

The cotton pads that she used in the video were from her own brand, Propre Baby, but it looks like any will do the trick.

The content creator, who has more than 156,000 followers on the video-sharing platform, explained that she began to take her makeup off using this method once her daughter was born.

‘I started doing this when I had my daughter because everyone changes their babies with these oversized cotton pads,’ she explained.

‘But I figured out that if you put the micellar water on them, it takes all of your makeup off so easily.’

How to remove makeup like a French mom!

  • Bioderma Micellar Water, which typically retails for around $18.99
  • Large, oversized cotton pads
  • Pour some of the Bioderma onto the cotton pad and rub on your skin, swiping away makeup as you go

For those who may be unfamiliar, micellar water is a skincare product that is extremely gentle and contains ‘a very mild detergent,’ according to Cleveland Clinic.

It can be used for all sorts of things, like taking off your makeup, or even as a toner.

‘So you have your pad, just wipe,’ Bertolami instructed, as she rubbed the oversized cotton pad all over her face.

After removing the makeup, she then showed viewers the heaps of makeup that it removed.

‘I love that it is the size of your hand, so especially if you have foundation on, it gets everything off,’ she explained.

In the comments section of Bertolami’s video, many seemed to agree that micellar water really is the best for taking off makeup.

‘Micellar water works better than harsh makeup removers in my opinion.

‘I use it morning and night. My skin has never looked better,’ one person wrote.

Another seconded, ‘THAT’S MY SAME ROUTINE!!!!’

‘Love Bioderma. It’s so good,’ someone else typed.

In April, another American woman living in Paris raved about the skincare products sold there.

Content creator Soldana said in a video posted to TikTok at the time that she had transformed her skin using just three French skincare products.

The products that she raved about were all from the French brand Typology, explaining that all of them gave her a natural finish.

‘I am a skincare girly, not a makeup girly. I absolutely hate the sight of makeup on my skin,’ she revealed in the clip.
