America’s Got Talent 2018: Everything you need to know

America’s Got Talent is due to return for its 13th season in just a few weeks.

Based on this first look at the upcoming season, it’s going to be a good one. The clip, released on Monday, imagines judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel, Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum in a horror movie scenario.

Stranded in a remote cabin in the woods in the middle of a thunder storm, the Americas Got Talent judges stumbled upon a typewriter printing, ‘All play and no judging makes Simon a dull boy’ on a seemingly endless supply of white paper, making reference to The Shining.

‘It is one of the most extraordinary things I have ever seen. Extraordinary. I mean amazing.’

Nick Cannon was not fired from America’s Got Talent. He left the show amid threats from NBC executives about a line in his Showtime stand-up special, titled Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.

In a statement Nick, 37, released on Facebook he explained: ‘It was brought to my attention by my “team” that NBC believed that I was in breach of contract because I had disparaged their brand.

‘In my defense, I would ask how so? Or is this just another way to silence and control an outspoken voice who often battles the establishment.’

He continued: ‘I have loved hosting AMERICAS GOT TALENT for the last 8 seasons.

‘Watching talented, brave, and courageous Americans accomplish their dreams in front of millions has been nothing but a joy, and everyone has been a pleasure to work with but my soul won’t allow me to be in business with corporations that attempt to frown on freedom of speech, censor artists, and question cultural choices.’
