America’s most patriotic family? Father and son drape entire house with American flag for July 4th

A Louisiana father and son duo decked their house with a massive American flag to celebrate the Fourth of July.

John Beard and his son Jayden draped the colossal Old Glory over their home to show their patriotism.

The 50-foot, 60-pound flag was a gift from a Marine veteran who served four tours in Iraq.

The Beards did not have a flag pole big enough to display the giant Old Glory so they meticulously laid it across their house.

‘It’s very emotional for me. We just love our country that’s all. I just hope that for one day, the Fourth of July, that everybody can just come together and remember America,’ John told WBRZ.

‘Ladder, rope and tackle and getting it up there and laying it across and then unfolding it and putting it up there and tacking it down, trying to be as respectful as possible to the flag.’

The Marine vet who gift them the flag gave it to them as a parting gift when the family moved from Tennessee to Louisiana.

‘We’re really good friends, he had the flag and he wanted to do something with it but didn’t know what to do with it. So actually my son here said let’s put it on the house, so we did,’ John said.

Jayden told Fox & Friends his pitched in to help him and his dad with the project.

John said the community response has been mostly positive but some people have complained online about their display

‘They were all for it,’ Jayden said. ‘I very much [love my country], and I agree with my father’s choice, what he’s doing of covering the house.’

‘The flag really represents my freedom, everyone’s freedom of speech of being able to hang this flag without any repercussions.’

John said the community response has been mostly positive but some people have complained online about their display.

‘In our neighborhood everybody loves it, absolutely phenomenal. There’s been a little bit of push back online,’ John said.
