Amy Adams gasps for air in bathtub for chilling first look at new HBO mini-series Sharp Objects

HBO released the first trailer for Sharp Objects—a mini-series set to premiere in July.

The haunting new show, based on a book by Gone Girl’s Gillian Flynn, stars Amy Adams.

The 43-year-old actress plays a reporter named Camille Preaker who returns to her hometown Windgap, Missouri to cover a violent murder.

The fear-inducing trailer introduces a star-studded cast that includes Patricia Clarkson, Matt Craven, and Henry Czerny. 

The eight-episode series will follow Adams’ character as she investigates the murder of two pre-teen girls and is forced to deal with her inner demons. 

The first look, while vague, shows a mentally distraught Camille Preaker and a pair of creepy twin girls.
