‘I try and do everything by the book’: Amy Hart hits back at trolls who branded her strict pregnancy rules ‘stupid’ – following a ‘bleeding’ scare

Amy Hart has defended her need to ‘do everything by the book’ when it comes to her pregnancy after being targeted by trolls.

The former Love Island star, 30, is expecting her first child with boyfriend Sam Rason, but was called ‘stupid’ by followers after she admitted she was being strict about the food she consumes during pregnancy.

Amy – who was recently forced to cut her trip to Ibiza short because she ‘started bleeding’ on the holiday – admitted she had an ‘overactive imagination’ and has been doing her best to keep herself and her baby safe.

Fears: Amy Hart, 30, has defended her need to ‘do everything by the book’ when it comes to her pregnancy after being targeted by trolls

Taking to Instagram Amy explained: ‘I have a very overactive imagination. I have an amazing long term memory, but that’s why I have to try and do everything by the book.

‘So if anything did happen I know that although it wouldn’t have been because I’d done something that you’re not supposed to do, like once in the space of nine months.

‘That would be all that I would think about and I’d know exactly when I did it and I just wouldn’t sleep for months.’

Amy continued: ‘So that’s why I have to try and be as by the book as I can. I’m just doing what I can, but trying to be as good as I can so I don’t beat myself up if anything happens.’

It comes after Amy was rushed home from her holiday in Spain after suffering a pregnancy scare last week.

The reality TV personality, who announced her baby news last month during a live appearance on Loose Women, revealed she ‘started bleeding’ while she was enjoying her getaway.

Amy said: ‘I started bleeding and I thought I was A+ blood type and my midwife kept saying it’s a good job I am that blood type.

‘She said if I was a negative blood type then I would need an Anti-D but go and get checked out on Monday.

‘So I was being Amy positive and Sam was amazing and every time I went for a wee he’d ask for the update and did a lot of research, he’s the best.

‘I was being very positive and thought it was nothing bad but just because I had been for a cervical exam and thought that’s all it is.

The former air hostess continued: ‘I said to myself, “We’ll be back here next September with our baby”.

‘The next morning, Sam said “It’s OK to be anxious about these things, you know”. I told him “No, I’m not anxious. Don’t accuse me of being anxious, I’m positive”.’

Amy found out her blood type after her mother opened her hospital letter while she was on holiday, which meant she had to hurry back home and began to ‘panic’.

The TV personality explained that she had rhesus negative blood meaning she needed an ‘injection within 72 hours’ to develop an immune response to it.
