She gave birth to her first child, son Gene Attell Fischer, last Sunday night, following a ‘violent’ and ‘awful’ pregnancy.

And after nearly one week of soaking in the love from her bundle of joy, Amy Schumer has now taken to social media to share a candid view of the last nine-months while thanking her birthing team.

The 37-year-old comedian was seen cradling Gene while praising doula Domino Kirke, the sister of actress Jemima Kirke and wife of actor Penn Badgley.

‘Ok here’s my post baby annoying post and my takeaway from pregnancy. Women are the s**t. Men are cool and whatever but women are f***ing warriors and capable of anything,’ she began the lengthy post. 

‘I was lucky enough to get to have a doula. Her name @domino_kirke @carriagehousebirth what do doulas do? I don’t totally know But what she did was make me and Chris feel totally secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process.’ 

‘I really recommend getting one if you can. Doctor Brill and all the nurses and pediatricians at Lenox Hill and all the other hospitals i spent time in this year, thank you for everything.’

Amy’s doula was none other than the sister of Girls’ actress Jemima Kirke, who also happens to be the wife of Gossip Girl and You star, Penn Badgley. 

Along with being a doula, Domino is also a musician, having toured with Lily Allen and recorded an EP with Mark Ronson.  

Amy continued to open up about her tough pregnancy, that she continued to document throughout her social medias as well as in her stand-up shows. 

‘I did Pilates with strong women and went for walks. I threw up violently and felt sick mostly every day of my pregnancy. Hyperemesis is real and it’s awful. But f**k, what they say is true. The second you give birth it’s gone,’ she added.

The blonde beauty also gave her thanks to her friends that kept her going through her tough pregnancy.  

‘All my friends. Friends I’ve had for 30 years or people who encouraged me to “keep going” or telling me “it will be worth it”. Thank you.’

Amy welcomed her little  one into the world on Sunday, May 5, at 10:55pm. 

She announced his birth the following day, poking fun at the timing of Meghan and Harry’s Royal baby arrival the following morning.  

’10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born,’ she captioned. And three days ago she revealed his name was Gene Attell Fischer.
