Andie MacDowell, 66, goes bra-free in a black jumpsuit with plunging neckline at Cannes… after saying it was an ‘honor’ to still hit red carpets

Andie MacDowell, 66, showed off her impeccable, age-defying style on the red carpet for the amfAR gala at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Maid star opted to leave her bra at home in the chic black jumpsuit with a daring, plunging neckline.

Andie’s complexion was flawless and her makeup was done to highlight her youthful appearance and give her a dewy glow.

She kept her accessories minimal, clipping some geometric black earrings to her ear lobes.

The Sex, Lies and Videotape actress wore her silver grey hair pulled back into a low chignon.

MacDowell’s appearance at the annual film festival in the south of France challenges the idea that youth is king.

The Four Weddings and a Funereal star has been putting on her own sartorial show, showing that a woman is relevant at any age.

‘I really like my life. It is a pure pleasure for me at this age to get dressed up and have people take good care of me, do my hair and makeup, and photograph me,’ she told New Beauty magazine in March. ‘All of this is an honor for me.’

The mom of actress Margaret Qualley, 29, has always stayed true to her elevated and chic look combining wide leg pants and oversized button-downs for one of the most stylish looks on the red carpet.

In March, the mom of actors Rainey and Margaret Qualley reflected on her decision not to allow her daughters to act when they were children but is ‘honored’ now that they’ve decided to follow in her footsteps.

‘It meant that I didn’t do anything that was destructive to their lives,’ the 65-year-old actress told NewBeauty. ‘It meant that I had been a good mother because they would choose to do the same thing I had done.’

She continued: ‘Of course, it was always hard as a working mother…I made a lot of sacrifices. I would also lose time with my children when I worked, but at the same time, they encouraged me.’

MacDowell revealed that when, at times, she would consider retiring that her children would tell her that she couldn’t ‘stop.’

‘They were really proud of me. I think that gave me the opportunity to show them that being able to work and be a successful mother is something that you can accomplish. They love working—they love doing what I do,’ she gushed.

The former fashion model revealed that the ‘one thing’ she ‘didn’t want’ was having her two girls or their brother Justin Qualley, who works as a real estate agent, to ‘work as children.’

‘I didn’t do that. And it can be fine. Parents can make that decision however they want to, but I felt like my kids deserved to have a childhood and not to work,’ she said. ‘I felt strongly that I didn’t want them to work as children.’

When asked about the advice she would have given her younger self when starting out in the industry, MacDowell admitted it was a ‘tricky question because life is what happens to you.’

A lot of times, it’s the journey that gets you to where you are now. I don’t know…I did give my daughters advice when they went into the business,’ she explained.

‘I told them to watch movies and to know what they like. I still think that is good advice,’ she continued.

‘I think continuing to study and take classes and grow and be flexible and realize there’s always something new to learn is key.’
