Actress Andrea Fay Friedman has died at the age of 53 due to complications from Alzheimer’s. 

Friedman’s father Hal Friedman revealed her passing to the New York Times, telling the publication his daughter had not been able to speak for the past year.  

She passed this past Sunday at her residence in Santa Monica, California.

Friedman, who had Down syndrome, played Amanda Swanson on the TV series Life Goes On from 1992 to 1993.
