Andrew Gaze gives Malcolm Turnbull basketball advise

Former Australian basketballer Andrew Gaze has offered his coaching services to the Prime Minister after his embarrassing failed basketball attempt.

Mr Gaze, who now coaches the Sydney Kings, gave Malcolm Turnbull some much needed words of wisdom after a video of the Prime Minister missing two basketball shots went viral at the weekend.

‘I just want to offer my services to the great man,’ Mr Gaze told Fitzy and Wippa’s Nova Sydney radio show Tuesday morning.

Mr Gaze said Mr Turnbull had ‘no arc’ in his shot and ‘there was no leg bend’ either

‘To see some of the shooting action that the prime minister had … there was no arc, there was no leg bend.

‘There was a whole lot going wrong.’

Mr Turnbull admitted to the basketball legend he did need some extra practice to make the shot. 

‘I’ve got to say this, I was so pumped up by the enthusiasm of all of the kids,’ Mr Turnbull said.  

‘But you give most 62-year-old politicians a basketball and they’ll miss the hoop.

‘Clearly I do need a coach.’

Last week the Prime Minister had a shot at a one handed layup which bounced off the basketball rim at a publicity event in Perth. 

Mr Turnbull missed the shot twice in front of a huge crowd, where the basketball rebounded in his face.
