Andrew Lincoln has been spotted back filming in the UK as he takes to set for a new thriller series.

The Love Actually star, 50, returned to British shores for filming ITV’s six-part series Cold Water.

Andrew was sporting a blue hoodie as he filmed scenes with his co-star, Game of Thrones actor Indira Varm, on Thursday.

He was also seen having a joke around with two child actors on set in between takes on the streets of Dennistoun, in Glasgow’s east end.

The role will be The Walking Dead star’s first television role in the UK in 15 years.

In February, the Love Actually star reunited with his co-star Danai Gurira for a New York advanced screening of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

The pair were all smiles for an early screening of their hit series, held at 92Y in Manhattan.

They were joined by The Walking Dead franchise chief content officer Scott M. Gimple and moderator Dalton Ross on the red carpet.

The series – set after the conclusion of the flagship Walking Dead series – is set to debut Sunday, February 25 on AMC.

Lincoln stepped out with a black t-shirt under a dark blue suit coat and matching dark blue pants with black dress shoes.

The actor also sported the early makings of a light-coloured beard for the red carpet and panel screening.

His co-star Gurira opted for a sleeveless and stunning red dress that flowed all the way to the red carpet.

She accessorised with clamshell earrings along with a gold bracelet and several gold rings for the event.

The actress completed her look with a pair of red pointed-toe heels for her stint on the red carpet.

Lincoln’s character Rick Grimes was separated from his lover, Gurira’s Michonne, when he was written off The Walking Dead in Season 9, though the trailers for The Ones Who Live reveal Rick has never stopped looking for Michonne.

The trailers also showcased Michonne looking for Rick as well, both dealing with new military leaders who have sprung up since the original show went off the air.

One of those new military figures is Beale, played by Lost star Terry O’Quinn, a Major General of the Civic Republic Military, an organisation first introduced in Season 8 of The Walking Dead.

Other new characters included Lesley-Ann Brandt as Pearl Thorne, who lived in Cape Town, South Africa before the zombie outbreak, and ultimately became a soldier in the Civic Republic Military.

Another newcomer was Breeda Wool as Aiden, who made her TWD debut in Season 10 when she encountered Michonne, and was then part of a large survivor caravan.

Craig Tate played Donald Okafor, who is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Civic Republic Military in this new series.

The series also brought back TWD character Jadis, played by Pollyanna McIntosh, who was with Lincoln’s Rick Grimes when he disappeared on TWD.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was executive produced by Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth, Brian Bockrath and Greg Nicotero.
