Andrew Winter reveals his stunning Gold Coast renovation

He’s the popular host of Selling Houses Australia who is in the running for a gold Logie at this year’s ceremony.

And Andrew Winter has revealed the fruits of his own renovation labours at his Gold Coast abode he shares with wife Caroline.

Speaking to the News Corp, the English-born presenter admitted that the renovation took 12 months to complete –  with the family living across the road from the house that he purchased as a renovation project.

While he is no stranger to assessing properties inside and out on Selling Houses, he told the publication that much of the renovation centred  on the exterior spaces.

‘We’ve never quite spent so much time focusing on the outside areas,’ Andrew explained.

Andrew added that the house boasts a pool at its centre rather than the backyard – a layout that piqued his curiosity about design possibilities.

‘Every single bedroom has direct access to the courtyard and pool so it’s really unusual in that respect,’ he said.

While much of the interior layout remained unchanged, Andrew said boundaries were pushed with such features as a stark black ceiling in the kitchen and a marble-look entry door.

‘It’s a solid door but it’s cut in porcelain,’ Andrew explained. ‘We were trying to push a few boundaries.’

Andrew is vying for a Gold Logie this weekend against Love Child actress Jessica Marais, A Current Affair host Tracy Grimshaw,  former Family Feud anchor Grant Denyer, and Doctor Doctor star Rodger Corser.

He is also in the running for Most Popular Presenter alongside The Project’s Carrie Bickmore, The Living Room’s Amanda Keller, Grant Denyer and Tracy Grimshaw.

Speaking to TV Week in May, Andrew revealed that he missed the Logies nomination festivities as he was suffering from a bout of Bell’s Palsy.

‘I was shocked to see that my eye was watering for some unknown reason, I then looked in the mirror and saw that my eyelid was closed on one side – like I was winking to myself,’ Andrew told the publication.

He told the publication the doctors ruled out all the ‘scary stuff’ and diagnosed him with Bell’s Palsy, a condition which causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles in one side of the face.

Fingers crossed: Andrew is in the running for a Gold and Most Popular Presenter  Logie at Sunday night's ceremony on the Gold Coast
