Andy Lee addresses accusations he’s ‘avoiding’ popping the question to long-term partner Rebecca Harding: ‘More like Married At Last Sight’

Andy Lee has been confronted with the question he dreads most – why hasn’t he married his girlfriend Rebecca Harding after 10 years of dating?

The comedian, 42, was forced to address accusations he’s avoiding popping the question on Monday during a very awkward live interview on The Kyle And Jackie O Show. 

During the chat, host Kyle Sandilands cheekily asked host Andy could possibly host a special Valentine’s Day episode of his show The Hundred, given that he is a ‘marriage avoider’. 

‘What’s going on there? Is she not the one?’ Kyle bluntly asked of Rebecca. 

‘She’s definitely the one,’ an audibly uncomfortable Andy replied. 

Co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson then joked Andy would only want to get married ‘on his death bed’

‘Married At Last Sight. That’s when you’ll get married!’ she quipped, sending Andy into awkward laughter. 

Refusing to let the topic go, Kyle quizzed Andy on whether Rebecca had visited budget jeweller Michael Hill to ‘at least pick out the shape’ of her ring. 

During the chat, host Kyle Sandilands cheekily asked host Andy could possibly host a special Valentine’s Day episode of his show The Hundred, given that he is a ‘marriage avoider’. 

‘Obviously we’re starting a little lower than Michael Hills,’ Andy joked, adding: ‘It’ll be entry level, the actual ring. I think the kind of one you might pick up at a market.’ 

Kyle later brought up Andy’s marital status yet again during a discussion about the funnyman’s new renovation plan. 

Andy and Rebecca are currently undertaking a $5m renovation project after buying a historic mansion in Melbourne’s east. 

‘What’s going on there? Is she not the one?’ Kyle bluntly asked of Rebecca. ‘She’s definitely the one,’ an audibly uncomfortable Andy replied

‘Once the place is brought back to its glory, like it’s at Downton Abbey looking beautiful joint… maybe you’ll get married in the garden there? That’s the plan, isn’t it?’ Kyle pried. 

Deflecting once again, Andy replied: ‘Are you a celebrant, Kyle?’ 

‘No way, but I can picture things in advance before they happen,’ Kyle playfully replied.
