Andy Lee reveals intimate details about engagement to Rebecca Harding as the couple move forward with their decrepit mansion upgrade: ‘I haven’t told anyone this’

Andy Lee has revealed new details about his engagement and home renovation as he visited two breakfast radio shows.

On Tuesday, the 43-year-old comedian joined Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren as well as Nova 93.7’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun to offer the breakfast radio hosts ‘a scoop.’

While on Nathan, Nat & Shaun, Andy dished details on his massive home renovation.

Andy paid $8.5million for the decrepit mansion, located in Hawthorn, Victoria, and is the midst of doing the $5million upgrade.

‘One thing is cool, actually, this is a scoop, I haven’t told anyone this. We’re probably two and a bit years away from finishing this thing. That’s how long it’s gonna take,’ he said. 

Host Nathan Morris suggested the heavily involved restoration could have been sold as a TV show when Andy began work on the project.

‘We could probably still do it, because we’ve barely started. It’s permit after permit after permit. We’ve just started the excavation,’ Lee admitted. 

Meanwhile, on Jase & Lauren, Andy revealed how shocked his long-term girlfriend Rebecca Harding was after he proposed to her May.

‘She was shocked actually, which is weird. What is weird about getting engaged is that… we know, so it’s not a surprise to us at all,’ he said.

Hosts Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips pushed for more details about where Andy kept ring while he waited for the right moment to pop the question.

‘I had it in my car when I picked it up one day, and then I had to go to a meeting at a cafe. I parked outside the cafe so I could see the car, but then to see the car, it was in a loading zone, so if I get towed!’ Andy recounted.

Meanwhile, on Jase & Lauren, Andy revealed how shocked his long-term girlfriend Rebecca Harding was after he proposed to her May

‘She was shocked actually, which is weird. What is weird about getting engaged is that… we know, so it’s not a surprise to us at all,’ he said

‘So then in the middle of the meeting, I ran back out and moved the car out of sight. But I was just petrified that the ring was just sitting in the car,’ he added.

In February, Andy was forced to assure The Hundred viewers hadn’t secretly married his longtime sweetheart.

Andy made the announcement as he was responding to a joke from co-star Tom Gleeson, who brought up his well-publicised love life.

‘Andy has got something to announce, he’s just eloped!’ Tom said.

‘Stick around till the end of the show, if that’s the case… It’s not the case,’ Andy hit back.
