- Andy Murray withdrew from his second-round clash with Jordan Thompson
Andy Murray pulled out of his Queen’s second-round match against Jordan Thompson with injury – despite heroically trying to carry on.
His withdrawal comes less than two weeks before he is due to compete at what could be his final Wimbledon.
Murray was 2-1 down when he required treatment and he led on a mat during a extended break from play.
After that he played on for two more games but looked out of sorts, struggling to keep pace.
Murray, who had looked fine during the warm-up, was visibly in pain and limping during the next two games, which Thompson took.

It is unclear when Murray sustained his injury as he had looked okay during the warm-up
He called time at 4-1 to Thompson in the first set, with rapturous applause from the stands.
‘Never the way you want to go through, especially with a great champion like Andy,’ Thompson said at the end.
