Chiefs coach Andy Reid has cautioned his players to be ‘smart’ in their Super Bowl parade a year after Jaylen Watson left the team’s Super Bowl celebrations in a wheelchair.

Watson, who was filmed downing a large portion of a Hennessy bottle, was apparently so inebriated following the Chiefs’ win over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII that he couldn’t walk.

And Reid does not want a repeat of that on Wednesday, judging from a virtual press conference he gave the day before.

The coach was asked by reporter Pete Sweeney, ‘How much of the messaging is let’s have fun, but maybe not too much fun?’

Reid replied, ‘That was mentioned a couple of times. It’s great to have fun. But be smart.’

After last year’s parade, Watson posted a photo to X of himself slumped in a wheelchair being wheeled around by a security guard.

‘Chiefs Kingdom!!! Y’all were responsible for this,’ he wrote, before quoting the Beastie Boys. ‘YOU GOTTA FIGHT, FOR YOUR RIGHT.’

Immediately after their 25-22 win on Sunday, the Chiefs headed to the Las Vegas Strip to celebrate their win over the 49ers.

Travis Kelce was seen rallying his crowd of admirers from the DJ booth, while he and girlfriend Taylor Swift were also seen sharing a kiss while her hit ‘Love Story’ played in the background.

His brother Jason, meanwhile, was spotted dancing hilariously while wearing a Mexican wrestling mask as he continued to make the most of his off-season.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes told ABC News at Disneyland: ‘Those two brothers, man. They’re the life of the party wherever they go.’

As for Watson, the cornerback registered two tackles against San Francisco and may hope to be better-behaved during this year’s celebrations.

The parade kicks off at 11am CT/12pm ET, beginning at 6th Street in the Kansas City River Market.
