Angry locals react after fed-up dad set up camp outside Anthony Albanese’s $4.3million holiday home to protest the country’s housing crisis

Locals have unleashed on an Aussie dad after he set up a tent outside Anthony Albanese’s $4.3million holiday home in protest of the country’s housing crisis. 

Morgan Cox positioned himself outside the Prime Minister’s five-bedroom home in Copacabana, on NSW’s Central Coast, on Thursday. 

It’s understood the father-of-three is still there as of Friday morning. 

His sign, attached to a large grey tent, reads: ‘Everyone deserves a home Albo!’

The father-of-three took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his stunt. 

He wrote: ‘I’ll be here outside Albo’s $4.6million mansion on behalf of 3.5million Australians in poverty or facing homelessness.

‘All we want is to be heard. Everyone deserves a home Albo!!!’

The stunt quickly sparked a reaction from locals, with one angry resident accusing Mr Cox of taking down a campaign poster of the electorate’s Labor candidate.

In a video shared to X, a local resident clashes with Mr Cox as he questioned his motive for the protest.

The man explained he bought land in the area when he was 17 before pointing to the sign and adding: ‘I don’t know which side you’re on but I’m not on your side.’

After the man announced he intends to to report the protest to the council, Mr Cox walked over and introduced himself. 

He told him he will be moving shortly but is trying to get his message out concerning the housing crisis in Australia.

‘All I care about is the three and a half million people that are in the same position as my family and I just want them to listen and this is the only way I can seem to get through.’ 

The resident then claims the Labour candidate, Gordon Reid’s materials have been taken down while Liberal candidate, Lucy Wicks’s materials are ‘all over the place’.

Mr Cox reiterated his protest is ‘not political’ but the resident insisted it is due to his position outside the Prime Minister’s house.
