Angry Masters fans blast tournament’s ‘amateur hour’ app and website for not working, with streaming feature down as viewers desperately try to watch the Augusta action

Masters fans were left extremely frustrated on the first day of action from Augusta, as the streaming feature on the tournament’s app and website were not working properly.

The Masters platforms offer a ‘my group’ feature that – in theory – allows golf fans to watch any players of their choosing at the tournament.

But according to fans online, that feature was not working properly on Thursday, leading golf fanatics to brand their viewing experience ‘amateur hour’ and a ‘disaster.’

‘Golf broadcasting is crazy to me,’ one fan said on X, replying to a post from the official Masters account. ‘You have golfers on the course, but no way of watching it.’

Another said, ‘The My Group feature is a disaster so far. It’s taking awhile to load and not showing every shot.’

Masters fans railed against the streaming coverage on the tournament’s app and website

And a different fan griped, ‘Watch every shot for every hole. Yeah, maybe 1.5 hours later,’ ending their post with a pair of clown emojis.

As of midday Thursday, the Masters’ website was only broadcasting holes 4, 5 and 6.

ESPN and CBS also offer coverage of the tournament, though, prior to ESPN’s primary coverage beginning later in the day, viewers require an ESPN+ or Paramount+ login to stream.

Play at the tournament was delayed due to heavy rainstorms, with things kicking off at 10:30 local time.

The first group on the first day was set to tee off around 8am local time in Georgia.

Thunderstorms and winds of up to 45mph had earlier been predicted for Thursday, leading to fears that play could be affected.

Players such as Tiger Woods have seen their tee times delayed, and the tournament could potentially be forced to wrap up on Monday.
