A deep laceration extends through the full width of the cat’s lower arm.
The dark-brown coloured wound stains the cat’s white-furred paw, indicating the cat was lying with it’s arm clamped on the dirt ground for a long time before it was rescued.
Nigel from Nigel’s Animal Rescue told 3aw Radio the cat’s arm had been trapped for 24-hours.
‘It’s one of the old steel jaw leg hold traps they used to use in the old days to catch rabbits,’ he said.
The injured animal appeared to be in a state of shock after it’s arm was finally released from the clamp.
