Ann Curry will give her first interview Today firing

Ann Curry is back.

Two months after her former Today co-anchor Matt Lauer was fired by NBC following accusations of sexual misconduct that went back two decades, Curry will be appearing on CBS This Morning.

She will be addressing Lauer’s sex scandal according to CBS, as well as the unceremonious dumping she got back in 2012 when Lauer had her kicked off Today.

It will be her first time speaking since she officially left NBC News in 2015, after  25 years with the company.

Curry’s ousting from the top on-air post by NBC executives back in 2012 became a public relations nightmare for the network.

NBC was widely criticized in the wake of that move, especially for the callous manner in which they dismissed the beloved veteran.

Curry was then forced to present the news as though it were her own decision, breaking down in tears on live television as she told viewers she would not longer be hosting with Lauer, just one year after she received the much coveted anchor chair.

That move come two months after Today was overtaken in the ratings by Good Morning America, breaking their 16-year streak as the most watched morning news program.

Lauer meanwhile was reported to have spearheaded the movement after the ratings dip.

Today has now overtaken GMA in total viewers and the demo in the wake of Lauer’s exit from the network.

Curry will be one of the first guests to sit down with the new lineup of anchors on CBS This Morning, with John Dickerson taking the spot that had been vacant since Charlie Rose was terminated following his own sex scandal.
