Ant and Dec super-fan has pairs’ face tattooed onto his leg

An Ant and Dec superfan had the TV duo tattooed onto his leg in a bid to win a Saturday Night Takeaway competition just hours before host McPartlin was arrested – leaving his hopes of landing a dream holiday prize to Florida in tatters.

Kelvin Jackson-Bowers got the tattoo on his calf in a bid to win the contest on ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway, with an all expenses paid trip to the U.S. up for grabs.

But following McPartlin’s crash and arrest, this Saturday’s edition of the show has been cancelled – meaning Kelvin’s efforts could all have been for nothing.

The 36-year-old, of Brown Edge, Staffordshire, was inspired to take part in the competition by his six-year-old son Harry, who had his heart set on winning the prize.

The competition involved contestants tweeting in attempts at recreating a hashtag on Twitter, but while other viewers baked or sewed the hashtag, Kelvin now permanently sports it on his leg.

Kelvin said: ‘It took a week of convincing but my family were able to talk me into it.

‘My son Harry is obsessed and has been fixated on the competition so my wife has entered every week.

‘The competition with Saturday Night Takeaway has different Twitter challenges every week and this is the first time they have needed my help.

‘They needed to recreate a hashtag so my wife had the brainwave of using my skin.

‘I said no at first when she asked on the Monday but I gave in the following Sunday and my father-in-law, who is a tattoo artist, did it.

‘I mainly did it for Harry. I already have tattoos including a full sleeve but this one was to try and win tickets on the plane.’

No decision has yet been taken over the final two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway, or the competition.

Kelvin has taken the situation in good humour, but he says Harry is not very pleased.

He added: ‘I have taken it well to be honest. As far as I am concerned having the tattoo is a bit of a laugh. If I had won I would have had it framed but Harry has been gutted.’

Kelvin’s wife, Emma Jackson-Bowers, said: ‘I saw that people were entering the competition and I thought that a tattoo would win it.

‘When I saw what had happened on the Monday my first thought was for how sad it was for Ant and then my second thought was thinking about my poor husband having the tattoo and my stomach dropped.

‘The hardest thing is not knowing what is happening with the show or the competition.’
