Ant McPartlin touches down in Australia one week before I’m A Celebrity premiere

Ant McPartlin has arrived in Australia a week before the first episode of this year’s I’m a Celebrity is due to air next Sunday.

It’s the 48-year-old’s 22nd year of hosting the ITV flagship show and he appeared relaxed in a black Stussy baseball cap, t-shirt and shorts with dark sunglasses on as he headed to a cafe for breakfast.

It appears Ant has made the trip Down Under alone again after his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, was unable to join him last year because she was pregnant with their first son, Wilder.

But Ant was all smiles as he joined his friend and longstanding co-host Declan Donnelly, 49, his talent manager wife, Ali Astall, and their children Isla, six, and Jack, two, for breakfast in the Cabarita.

The Geordie duo stay in the same beachfront £1,000 a night penthouse in the New South Wales town.

On Saturday, Dec and his family were seen enjoying breakfast in the same spot before admitting they were struggling with jet lag and heading back into the shelter of their penthouse.

Ant, 48, always celebrates his birthday during the run of the show and usually arrives in Australia later than Dec, who likes to spend time with his family on the beach which their apartment looks out onto.

One local told MailOnline: ‘They’re pretty understated people, low-key.

‘They’re more noticeable from the large group they’re with but I mean they’re not really that well known, which is probably nice.

‘They keep to themselves but they’ve got their spots and when they go to those they’re definitely the guests of honour, people just want to chat to them and make them feel comfortable.’
