He highlighted the leader’s humble roots in public housing, and his ‘ambitious’ climate change policies and credited his recognition of Aboriginal Australians.
Mr Albanese’s Voice to Parliament has been designed to represent Indigenous people with a federal advisory body for the first time in Australia’s history.
‘Progressives around the world are united in the idea that we should leave no one behind,’ Mr Trudeau began.
‘The idea that no matter who you are or where you come from, you should have every chance to succeed in life. Few politicians embody that journey as does.
‘From growing up in public housing to taking office last spring as Australia’s new Prime Minister, he is a symbol of hope and inspiration.
‘He works to lift up and amplify the voices of those who need to be heard from, particularly Indigenous peoples.
‘His government supports those who need it most, believes that we need to take ambitious climate action, and unwaveringly supports democracy in the face of unprecedented threat.

‘In a world where people are increasingly uncertain about what the future holds for them and their families, it’s easy for politicians to sow fear and division.
‘To choose the path of hope and opportunity takes immense courage, and that courage lives within Anthony Albanese.’
Also in Time 100’s leaders category was First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, American Prime Minister Joe Biden and Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries.
Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also made the cut, as well as Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Shultz.
Previous Australian Prime Minsters to make the list include Labor PM Kevin Rudd in 2008, and Liberal leader John Howard in 2005.
Mr Albanese is yet to acknowledge his place on the Time 100 list on his social media, which comes just over a month before he marks one year in office.
