Anthony Albanese Newspoll: Huge blow for Anthony Albanese as disastrous new poll shows Labor going backwards months after new year ‘reset’

A new poll has revealed Aussies are turning their back on the Labor Party after a referendum loss and a tax cut backflip.

The results from Newspoll reveal only 32 per cent of Aussies have Anthony Albanese’s Government as their primary vote, the lowest slump since winning the federal election in 2022.

The same poll showed the Liberal-National Coalition pulling further ahead from the Labor Party with a 37 per cent share of the primary vote.

Labor also appear to be losing its grip on the two-party preferred vote and now only lead the coalition 51-49, having once held a massive 57-43 lead in September 2022.

Mr Albanese announced in early January the government was considering new cost-of-living measures after months of rocky polling results following The Voice referendum.

The Newspoll results, conducted for The Australian, revealed Mr Albanese’s approval levels rose to 44 per cent while his dissatisfaction levels remained at 51 per cent.

The net rating for Liberal Party leader, Peter Dutton, dropped to -15 with an approval rating of 37 per cent and a disapproval level of 52 per cent.

More to come.
