Anthony Albanese tests positive to COVID

Huge blow for Anthony Albanese as he is forced to isolate for a WEEK after testing positive to Covid as election campaign finally heats up

Anthony Albanese has tested positive to Covid one day after his first election debate with Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

The Labor leader said on Thursday evening he had been struck down with the virus and would spend the next seven days isolating in Sydney.

‘While at home I will continue my responsibilities as alternative Prime Minister and will be fighting for a better future for Australians,’ he said.

‘I am grateful to know that I will have access to the world’s best health care if I need it, because of Medicare.

‘I am feeling fine so far – and thank everyone for their well wishes.’
