Anthony Joshua is in line to face the winner of Tyson Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, insists Eddie Hearn, even if the Gypsy King gains revenge on the Ukrainian to set up a potential trilogy

Eddie Hearn has revealed Anthony Joshua is in line to fight the winner between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title even if the Gypsy King gains revenge to set up a potential trilogy. 

Joshua last fought in March when he brutally knocked out Francis Ngannou in the second round in Saudi Arabia. 

He now looks set to fight Daniel Dubois – who recently stopped Filip Hrgovic on cutsas he won the IBF ‘interim’ belt – at Wembley in September. 

If Joshua comes through unscathed, he will fight either Fury or Usyk, who are set for a rematch in December 

Hearn told The Sun: ‘I expect the winner of the December fight to fight Anthony Joshua, if he wins in September.

‘There’s no decision yet made on the opponent, there’s three or four in the mix. But yeah, that’s the absolute plan.

‘The first priority is to regain the world heavyweight title and obviously undisputed’s always been the dream.

‘So I think we’re two fights away from becoming undisputed. But, we’ve got to win them.’

Last month, Usyk beat Fury via split decision after the judges scored the bout 115-112, 113-114, 114-113 in a historic showdown. 

The Ukrainian’s victory meant that he  became the first boxer since Lennox Lewis in 1999 to unify the heavyweight division after taking the WBC title off Fury, which was added to his WBA (Super), WBO, IBF and IBO titles.

To have a shot at the undisputed title , Joshua will have to overcome Duboi, with promoter Frank Warren revealing that discussions are ongoing about a potential between the pair are underway.

Joshua is set to take on Daniel Dubois at Wembley in September with discussions underway 

‘Daniel Dubois proved all his doubters wrong and won the IBF ‘interim’ belt,’ Warren said on talkSPORT recently.

‘He hopefully will be fighting AJ in the autumn, we’re working on that. He did well.

‘We would love it to be in the UK, they’re two Brits, it would be a great fight to put on at Wembley.’
