From the media conference to the weigh-in.

From the gilded elegance of the Guildhall in the marbled presence of Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington to a packed Trafalgar Square at the foot of Nelson’s Column.

Where else for British men o’war to prepare for battle than in the shadow of military icons? Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois move on to another iconic London venue this Saturday night to fight for the IBF world heavyweight title.

No fewer than 96,000 followers will man the ramparts of Wembley. At the last formality before the bell tolls, Joshua scaled the heavier at 252lbs 5oz over Dubois at 248lbs 6oz.

Dubois told the gathering: ‘I’m ready to seize my moment by keeping my title by any means possible.’

The London roars went up for Joshua as he said: ‘Stay with me as I become a three-time world heavyweight champion.’

Joshua is favourite to become champion, while Dubois is defending his belt for the first time.

Much of the build-up to the all-British contest has focused on bad blood between the pair and there was somewhat further animosity on show when they came face-to-face for the final time outside the ring on Friday.

Joshua had previously kept Dubois waiting to start what ended up being a bizarre pre-fight press conference earlier in the week as both boxers tried to use mind games to gain an edge.

Dubois has looked leaner than he did in his previous victory over Filip Hrgovic in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last time out and weighed in at 248lbs (17st7lbs) on the Trafalgar Square scales as fans flocked to see the official weigh in ahead of his clash with Joshua.

Meanwhile, Joshua will enter the ring as the heavier of the two boxers with the Eddie Hearn-backed fighter registering at 252lbs – four lbs heavier than Dubois.

Dubois cut a confident figure after an uneventful faceoff with Joshua, stating: ‘I am ready for the fight. Time to get in the ring and fight now. We have been working hard and I am ready to fight. A lot has gone in to this, a lot of work and training and the talk is done. A win by any means necessary.’

Meanwhile, Joshua asked the crowd to ‘pray’ for him to be successful as he bids to become champion again.

‘I look at myself as a gladiator for the people who want to see blood, guts and glory,’ he said.

Joshua previously weighed in at 252.4lbs (18st) for his last victory over Francis Ngannou.

Both Hearn and Queensberry promoter Frank Warren also appeared on stage and appeared in good sprits alongside each other during the pre-fight event that was hosted by legendary announcer Michael Buffer.

Five huge fights on the Riyadh Season undercard will prelude Joshua and Dubois’ main event with Anthony Cacace taking on Josh Warrington, while Joshua Buatsi will take on Willie Hutchinson for the vacant WBO Interim light-heavyweight title.
