Anthony Mundine threatens to quit SAS Australia after humiliating wrestling challenge defeat against The Bachelor’s Tim Robards

Anthony Mundine threatened to quit SAS Australia during Monday’s episode after suffering a humiliating defeat against The Bachelor’s Tim Robards.

The boxing champion, 48, was pitted against Robards, 40, in a physical challenge where they had to wrestle each other on a platform above a cliff drop.

They were both secured by harnesses to ensure safety and while Mundine initially looked confident, he quickly soured after Robards surprisingly overpowered him.

Mundine was seen losing his grip while wrestling Robards and in a humiliating moment, lost his balance and fell off the platform.

‘I’m The Man. Come on, it’s going to be easy work, if you know what I mean,’ Mundine had told his co-stars about wrestling Robards, shortly before his shock defeat.

The Sydney native did not take the loss in good stride, and threatened to quit the show after host Ant Middleton teased him about the loss.

‘Mate f**k, look he’s 15kg heavier. I’d still pump him, bruh. Get in the ring with me,’ a red-faced Mundine said of the loss.

Fortunately, Middleton managed to convince Mundine to stay on the show after ringing his mother who gave her son a pep talk.

‘That was a big pick me up, bro,’ he told Middleton.

Elsewhere on the episode, Stephanie Rice broke down in tears as Ant Middleton kicked her off SAS Australia following her shoulder injury.

The Olympic Gold Medalist, 35, dislocated her shoulder last week while handling a live grenade during a challenge.

Despite wanting to continue on the show, Ant told Stephanie she would be heading home because she is at risk of injury herself severely.

‘Yesterday you proved to me and the rest of the DS [directing staff] that you want to be here, you want to push through which is nothing but commendable,’ he said.

‘But you’re at risk of really really damaging yourself. I don’t want that for you. It’s with an extremely heavy heart that I’m going to have to take you off this course.’

An emotional Stephanie broke down and said: ‘This is exactly what happened to me before at the Olympics. It’s so frustrating.’
