‘Anti-Semite,’ Yehia Amin who hurled abuse at Israeli tourist and said ‘Hamas should kill more of you’ before hitting him in NYC’s Times Square is hit with hate crime charges

An ‘anti-Semite’ who punched a 23-year-old Israeli tourist in New York City’s Times Square while  shouting ‘Hamas should kill more of you’ has been charged with a hate crime, prosecutors announced. 

Yehia Amin, 28, was charged with assault, stalking and aggravated harassments in the hate crime, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office stated on Tuesday.

The victim, whose was wearing a a kippah, was walking through Times Square with four of his friends, who were all wearing that traditional head covering that is worn by Jewish males, during the October 18 attack, according to the DA’s office. 

DA Alvin Bragg alleged that Amin ‘taunted and punched a tourist after stalking his friends and going on a vile anti-Semitic tirade that spanned several minutes.’

He vowed that ‘violence stemming from hate and discrimination will not be tolerated in Manhattan.’

The victim, a Jewish Israeli tourist whose name was not released, was visiting Times Square with a group of four male friends. 

As they walked up to 7th Avenue from 42nd Street, they passed Amin, who started to follow them when he recognized they were Jewish, court documents revealed. 

Amin trailed the group several blocks as he played what he described as ‘Hamas music’ on his Bluetooth speaker. 

During the vicious tirade, he made chilling anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli remarks including, ‘Hamas should kill more of you.’ 

He chanted: ‘May Allah kill you… May Allah kill all Jews’ and ‘All Jews should die,’ as per court documents.

While the young men approached a nearby security guard to report him, Amin continued his verbal onslaught.

He shouted out,  ‘I want to die for Gaza.’ ‘I want to kill you,’ and ‘I want to kill you for Gaza.’

As they tried to walk to a train station, Amin reportedly ran behind the victim and punched him in the back of the head, The Hill reported. 

As he tried to flee the scene the group chased him including, a police officer who took him into custody, the news outlet reported.
