Anton Du Beke has confessed that he is ‘furious’ with Moira Stuart after she danced with Alijaz Skorjanec on the Strictly Christmas special on Saturday night.

The judge, 55, was in complete jealousy as he watched the former newsreader, 72, dance a beautiful Salsa after admitting that he had been pleading with her to dance with him for 15 years.

When it came time for the judges’ comments, Anton said to Moira: ‘I can’t believe this. For 15 years I have been asking you to do this show with me.

‘I turn my back for a second and you are on with a young, firm model.’

He jokingly added: ‘I’m furious’.

But he was unable to keep up his angry façade up for long and soon couldn’t help but gush over Moira’s magnificent performance.

He said: ‘I tell ya, you were terrific. You were grooving, you were moving. I loved it.’

He then declared ‘You beauty’ before brandishing a whopping score of nine out of ten for her dance.

Moira received eight points each from the other judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas, giving her an amazing 33 points total for her Strictly debut.

The show was won by Anne-Marie, 30 who took home the festive glitter star trophy, beating out competition from Moira, Adrian Chiles, Mel Giedroyc, Fred Sirieux, and Jay Blades.

She and her partner Graziano Di Prima wowed with their incredible Cha-cha-cha and managed to bag a whopping 40 out of 40 points.

Craig Revel Horwood called the performance: ‘Fab-u-lous!’

When they were announced as the winners, Anne-Marie couldn’t believe her luck, saying: ‘I didn’t hear my name then, I’m so happy. He wanted it so bad as well, I’m so happy.’ 

Graziano said: ‘For me it’s been an honour. Since the first day I met her, I’ve done my best she’s done her best and from that hard work, here we are.’

Anne-Marie later took to Twitter to celebrate her win, writing: ‘I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!! I’m so proud and so happy for the opportunity to dance. It brought out a side of me I hadn’t seen in a long time. 

‘Thanks to @GrazianoDiPrima and the whole team. You have made my Christmas so special!’
