Apple TV owners can now access Amazon Prime Video through the streaming device, marking what could be the end of an ongoing feud between the two tech giants.
Apple announced today that Amazon’s video-streaming app is now available on Apple TV and Apple TV 4K.
The move comes amid growing tensions between Amazon and Google; just yesterday, Google revealed it is pulling YouTube from Amazon’s Fire TV and Echo Show, after the firm refused to sell Google’s competing devices.

Rumors of the truce first emerged this past spring, when a report by BuzzFeed revealed that the two firms had come to an agreement that would let users watch Prime videos on their Apple TV devices.
It was initially expected to become available sometime this summer.
At Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June, CEO Tim Cook confirmed that Apple TV would support the Amazon Prime Video app before the end of the year.
But, with 2017 coming to a close, many were left wondering when this would actually happen.
Now, starting today, Apple says the Amazon Prime app will finally be available for Apple TV.
This will allow users to stream Amazon original series and movies.
Apple is also adding support for live sports, with participation from ESPN, the NBA, and Turner Sports.
Thursday Night Football will be available starting tomorrow on the Apple TV app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, the firm noted.

‘Amazon Prime Video is one of the most eagerly anticipated apps to come to Apple TV, so we’re excited to bring all of that great content to customers,’ said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
‘The Sports tab in the Apple TV app makes it even easier for fans in the US to track the teams, games, and moments that are important to them.
‘With these exciting updates, plus our growing collection of 4K HDR movies on iTunes, we continue to deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience to Apple customers.’
While Amazon appears to be patching things up with one of its rivals, another feud is building elsewhere.

Tensions between Amazon and Google have steadily risen over the last few years.
And, after Amazon’s refusal to sell a number of Google device that could rival its own – including Google’s Chromecast and the Home speaker – Google has retaliated by pulling YouTube from Amazon’s devices.
In a statement Tuesday, Google said: ‘Given this lack of reciprocity, we are no longer supporting YouTube on Echo Show and Fire TV.’
YouTube will stop working on Fire TV as of January 1 unless the two firms make amends in the next few weeks.
