ARIA Awards 2023: Jessica Mauboy shocks as she unveils her new copper tresses at music’s night of nights

Jessica Mauboy has cemented herself as one of the country’s most famous singers after bursting onto the scene on Australian Idol in 2006. 

But the beloved songstress, 34, proved she’s still got some tricks up her sleeve on Wednesday when she debuted flame red hair at the 2023 ARIA Awards. 

Jessica gave a sneak peek of her shock new copper look ahead of the awards at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.

‘Can’t deal [with] Jessica Mauboy today I had some fun transforming this beauty,’ the singer’s hairdresser wrote affectionately. 

This year Jessica has been nominated for ‘Best Video’ with her new single ‘Give You Love’ with Jason Derulo. 

Jessica Mauboy unveiled her new copper tresses on Wednesday as she underwent a huge transformation for the ARIA Awards in Sydney 

Jessica has previously won two ARIA Music Awards out of 25 nominations.

She only recently spoke of her new album ‘Yours Forever’ which features the new single ‘Flashback’ on it. 

Speaking on The Daily Telegraph last week, Jessica talked about her new music’s personal nature, revealing that one of the songs was about her husband, Themeli Magripilis. 

This year Jessica has been nominated for ‘Best Video’ with her new single ‘Give You Love’ with Jason Derulo 

‘Whatever love means to you, this song is that,’ she said. ‘It encapsulates that butterfly feeling from when I literally first laid eyes on him.

Jessica also recalled the first time they met.  

‘It’s a strange thing when you come from a small town that you’re supposed to know of everyone, and I’d never met him. I had that moment of: ‘Where have you been? Who are you? You’re out of this world’.’ 

Her new album ‘Yours Forever’ is out in February.
