Ariana DeBose stands out in bold orange suit as she is honored at National Dance Institute gala in NYC
Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winner Ariana DeBose was honored at the 47th annual National Dance Institute gala in New York on Monday night.
The Hamilton alum, 32, looked stunning in an orange suit featuring a blazer that hit just above mid-thigh and flared pants.
The Schmigadoon! actress paired the festive look with a lacy white bandeau-style top and pointy-toed gold shoes.
Her short, dark hair was parted on the side and she rocked a swipe of blush, full lashes, and a fresh swipe of lip gloss.
The West Side Story star was honored alongside philanthropists and long-time patrons of NDI, Carmen and Ray Debbane.

According to the website, Monday’s event was, ‘The highlight of the Spring social calendar, NDI’s Annual Gala raises $1.5 million in support of our award-winning arts education programs for thousands of children in New York City public schools each year.’
‘This eagerly-anticipated event will begin with a festive cocktail reception followed by an elegant sit-down dinner punctuated by a spirited live auction, an honors presentation, and special performances by the children of National Dance Institute that will send guests’ spirits and hearts soaring!’
Tickets for the annual event started at $500 and went as high as $50,000 for a VIP table.
Actor Mandy Patinkin and his wife Kathryn Grody were co-chairs of the event alongside actress Charlotte d’Amboise and her actor husband Terrence Mann.
Members of the organization’s committee included such luminaries as Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Glenn Close, Whoopi Goldberg and Kevin Kline.
Ariana is fresh off her promotional tour for the second season of Schmigadoon!
In season two of the AppleTV+ show, Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong’s characters end up in Schmicago.
DeBose played schoolmarm Emma Tate in the first season.

The Westworld winner recently defended her universally panned rap which opened February’s BAFTA broadcast.
The Prom star told Time Out that the song was ‘fun’ and she ‘owns every ounce’ of her performance.
Viewers declared they were left cringing when she took to the stage to spit lyrics about the female nominees.
She told the publication: ‘These lyrics were never meant to be Charles Dickens. They are what they are.’

‘On TikTok people were asking about why [one lyric was] Blanchett, Cate? It’s literally a play on Madonna’s Vogue rap,’ she continued.
She also teased that she wouldn’t ‘shy away’ from the viral performance and would recreate it during her upcoming London and New York concerts.
Adding: ‘I still maintain what it was. It was just fun. I enjoy the memes. There are DJ remixes to this little rap.’
Following Ariana’s BAFTA performance one viewer wrote on Twitter: ‘P***ing myself laughing at Ariana DeBose’s BAFTA song, why did this happen?’
