Ariana Grande has answered back to Pete Davidson’s jab.
After the Saturday Night Live star, 24, referenced their called-off engagement in a promotional clip for the NBC comedy staple, the No Tears Left to Cry singer, 25, answered back with a pair of tweets.
The Florida-born beauty wrote: ‘For somebody who claims to hate relevancy you sure love clinging to it huh,’ later keeping it short and sweet in saying, ‘thank you, next’ and ‘hell naw tho.’
Retort: Ariana Grande, 25, answered back with a pair of tweets after her ex, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, 24, referenced their called-off engagement in a promotional clip for the NBC comedy staple
The clip featured Pete alongside actor Jonah Hill, 34, who will be the host, and Maggie Rogers, 24, who will be the musical guest on the program.
In the clip Pete said: ‘Hey Maggie, I’m Pete. You wanna get married?’ which she declined.
Pete then said ‘0-for-three,’ a sly allusion to his called-off engagement with the pop star.
Pete has previously dated Cazzie David, daughter of comedy icon Larry David, as well as comic Carly Aquilino, though it was not immediately clear if there were engagements in either of those relationships.
An insider close to Grande told People that the comedian joking around about the breakup was ‘not shocking to anyone,’ but ill-timed nonetheless.
Counter puncher: Ariana wasted no time in responding to Pete’s remark with subtweets of her own she later deleted
The proposal: Pete asked musical guest ‘Wanna get married?’ to which she responded, ‘No’
‘It was way too much too soon,’ the insider added, as Grande has been open as of late in dealing with bouts of anxiety, and remains in mourning for ex Mac Miller.
The Dangerous Woman artist was in an almost-two-year relationship with Miller from September 2016 until their split this past May.
The rap artist was found dead at 26 in his Studio City, California home on September 7 in what authorities suspect to be a drug overdose.
