An Arizona man has been arrested for allegedly running over and killing his girlfriend in the parking lot of a Phoenix strip club, as the victim’s two children looked on.

Ricardo Miranda Garcia, 26, is being held on suspicion of one count of first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault in the death of Anjelica Moraga.

Police say the 28-year-old Moraga died of her injuries at a hospital early Sunday.

According to investigators, Moraga and Garcia got into an argument at 11pm Saturday, which escalated to a point where he rammed into his girlfriend’s vehicle, causing minor damage, reported AZFamily.com.

Inside the car were two other adults and Moraga’s two children.

Sometime later, Moraga got out of her car and was standing in the parking lot of the gentlemen’s club T&A Cabaret when police say her boyfriend intentionally mowed her down, then sped off.

Police officers who responded to the scene located Garcia in an alley near 1st Avenue and Apache Street, where Moraga’s family members had cornered the man and were fighting him.

He was taken into custody without further incident and lodged in the Maricopa County Jail on $500,000 bail. He is due back in court next Monday.

Records indicate that Garcia has a history of run-ins with the law dating back to 2014, which includes charges of vandalism and resisting arrest.
