Arsenal ‘agree £10MILLION-a-year shirt sleeve deal with Visit Rwanda for another four seasons’

Arsenal ‘agree £10MILLION-a-year shirt sleeve sponsorship deal with Visit Rwanda for another four seasons’… just days after the country’s president hit out at the Gunners following dismal defeat by Brentford

  • Arsenal started the season with a dreadful 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Friday
  • Rwanda’s president launched a ranted about the loss on Twitter later
  • Despite his outburst, the tourism partner has signed a deal for four more seasons
  • Visit Rwanda are set to pay £10million per year despite the team’s poor form

Rwanda’s president was raging at Arsenal’s pitiful performance against Brentford on Twitter just days ago, now the nation’s tourism brand have signed a new £40m deal.

The Premier League season kicked-off with a shock underdog victory, as the newly-promoted Bees stung Arsenal 2-0. Mikel Arteta’s side promptly received a merciless slating from all sides.

The sleeves of the north Londoners’ shirts have been occupied by Visit Rwanda since 2018 and despite watching the match, have signed a four-year extension to their sponsorship deal.

Visit Rwanda have extended their deal for another four years to appear on Arsenal’s sleeves

The deal is reportedly set to cost £10million-per-year, according to Football London, as the tourism brand put their weight behind the fallen giants.

Rwandan president Paul Kagame may have put doubt on the deal on Friday however, after he launched a tirade against the team and ownership.

‘The game itself aside Arsenal and the fans don’t deserve to kind of get used to this… NO,’ Kagame wrote.

‘It’s been a struggle of about decades – ups and downs – more downs until this point.

‘Can’t we have a plan that really works?? One part to look at is how we deal in the market – players we buy to execute the plan. The touch and go mentality does not bring change.

Mikel Arteta’s team were given brutal criticism afterwards and he is now back on the ropes

‘We just must not excuse or Accept mediocrity. A team has to be built with purpose to win win win. So that when we lose… it was not to be expected!

‘I am sure we all know on whose shoulders the heaviest burden rests. I hope they know too or even accept it!’

Mikel Arteta and transfer chief Edu are already under pressure after match-day one of the Premier League season, which unfathomably suggested the club could continue their slide.

Arsenal finished eighth last season putting in nightmarishly similar performances to the one displayed on Friday night.

They’ll hope they return of key men Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette will boost them, as Edu scrambles to bring-in Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid after the midfielder’s six-month load last season.
