Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has jokingly trolled his unsettled team-mate Alexis Sanchez about not going to the 2018 World Cup.
The 25-year-old Egypt international posted on his personal Twitter account to his 1.85 million followers, reminding Chilean Sanchez that he would not be featuring on the biggest stage of all.
Elneny, who has made made 58 appearances for his homeland, scoring five goals, took great delight in also informing Sanchez nine of his Gunners colleagues would heading to the global tournament in Russia.
The defensive midfielder, who Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also experimented with as a centre-half, asked: ‘Who will come with me to Russia?’, before listing Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Olivier Giroud, Alexandre Lacazette, Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and David Ospina as his Gunners pals who would be on the plane to Russia.
He then tweeted: ‘Sorry my friend Sanchez. There is no place for you’.
While Elneny’s social media message may have been a joke, speculation is rising the Arsenal dressing room – and Wenger – are becoming increasingly exasperated with the wantaway’s striker behaviour.

Long-serving boss Wenger was seen in deep discussion with the Chilean during training on Saturday as the squad prepare for the Premier League clash with West Brom at the Hawthorns on New Years Eve.
With Sanchez reportedly pining for a move to moneybags Manchester City Wenger was pictured having an animated conversation with the Chilean, whose popularity has plummeted in recent months, prior to the session at Arsenal’s London Colney training base.
The heated discussion comes after many of Sanchez’s Arsenal team-mates pointedly failed to celebrate with him after he netted his first goal in club’s 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace on Thursday at Selhurst Park.

There are some players who want him out in January, others who wish he had been sold last summer.
With Pep Guardiola’s City monitoring Sanchez’s situation closely, the fact Sanchez will be able to have a summer rest while the World Cup plays out is seen as a positive.
Even if Sanchez’s Arsenal team-mates are having a laugh at his expense at not being part of the global football jamboree.
Sanchez has yet to respond to Elneny’s good-natured joke, at least not on social media.
