Dominik Szoboszlai ‘to make decision on his future NEXT WEEK’… with Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich target’s £23.5m release clause ready to be triggered in January

  • Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai finds himself in demand now
  • He has been one of Europe’s breakout stars and Arsenal are said to be interested
  • Sky Germany say he will make a decision on a January switch by December 15
  • He has a £23.5m release clause in his contract if he does decide to seal a move

Red Bull Salzburg’s star midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai will reportedly make a final decision on a January exit on December 15 – with Arsenal ready to firm up their interest if he announces he wants to leave.

Szoboszlai has been one of the stand-out players in Europe this season and such performances have seen suitors such as Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich circle.

Sky Germany report that December 15 is the date the midfielder has set to determine whether he will look for a January transfer or commit to staying in Austria for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal would not be able to offer Champions League football next month but they could likely offer more minutes in the first team with Mikel Arteta in desperate need of some creativity.

The Hungarian international does hold a release clause in his contract and so if he makes clear he does want to leave in January there would be a scramble to secure his signature.

The 20-year-old is a man in form with two goals in six Champions League games this season.

His record also shows four goals in 10 games in the Austrian Bundesliga, while he has added a further six assists.

Szoboszlai, who typically plays as a No 10, is a product of Salzburg’s famed youth academy.

Since breaking into the first team in Austria he has scored 25 goals and added 33 assists in 80 games.

Arsenal’s big problem so far this season has been creativity in attack.

The Gunners have scored just two goals in the last seven Premier League games and as a result they sit down in 15th place.

Szoboszlai is an orthodox No 10 and would be able to provide a link to out-of-form striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
