Arsenal have threatened to ban supporters who sell their tickets to Bayern Munich fans for tonight’s Champions League quarter-final first leg tie at the Emirates Stadium amid fears of violence.

UEFA have banned all Bayern fans from attending the match after fireworks were thrown onto the pitch during away games at Copenhagen and Lazio in the competition this season.

Though it will not be a complete visitors shutout, the German giants having been allocated 180 tickets for a delegation of friends and family, with 20 senior club officials in the directors’ box. Bayern have urged their fans not to travel to London.

Mail Sport understands that the Met don’t deem the fixture to be high risk but have a plan in place for if Bayern fans arrive near the stadium.

German tabloid Bild reported that much of the travelling squad have been unable to bring over their families because of the ban.

To avoid disorder, Arsenal have not sold tickets to any new members that registered for the ticket ballot after March 11, in advance of the last-eight draw.

Season-ticket holders are only able to offload their tickets via the club’s official ticket transfer service to supporters whose accounts were created before the same date.

Arsenal are determined to avoid a repeat of the unsavoury scenes in 2017 when thousands of Cologne supporters bought tickets for a Europa League game at the Emirates.

Violence delayed the kick-off by an hour and Cologne fans clashed with stewards, the police and home supporters.

An Arsenal statement read: ‘There is additional risk associated with this game, because Bayern Munich are not permitted an away allocation.

‘Any season-ticket holder or Arsenal member’s seat found to be in possession of an away fan will be suspended indefinitely.’
