Arsenal star Mesut Ozil reacts FURIOUSLY to being substituted after 59 minutes against Manchester City as he kicks his gloves along touchline
Mesut Ozil kicked his gloves along the touchline as he vented his frustrating at being substituted in Arsenal’s defeat by Manchester City on Sunday.
The German was taken off by interim manager Freddie Ljungberg on 59 minutes, with Emile Smith-Rowe his replacement.
But the 31-year-old then proceeded to punt his gloves along the touchline and kick the turf before brushing by hands proffered by the Arsenal interim manager and Per Mertesacker.

The Arsenal crowd’s reaction to the substitution was one of more boos that eventually grew a lot louder as Ozil made his way off at a leisurely pace.
The boos did not however draw the same reaction from the German as Granit Xhaka when he was booed off in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace in October.
Interim Gunners boss Ljungberg promised to ‘deal with’ Ozil afterwards.
‘For me I took Mesut off because I wanted some more energy in the team,’ Ljungberg told Sky Sports. ‘I thought Emile did really well when he came in.
‘How he reacts is up to him and I’ll deal with it.
‘We’ll see what it means for the future but of course we want players to behave the right way.’
But it added further frustration to a disappointing season so far for the former Germany international.

The incident did not eclipse the ire shown by Granit Xhaka against Crystal Palace in October
Ozil has played just eight Premier League games this season, and has yet to find the net, contributing just one assist with the corner for Alexandre Lacazette’s header against Brighton.

The German’s only other goal contribution this campaign came in his memorable backheel assist to Ainsley Maitland-Niles at Anfield in the 5-5 draw against Liverpool in the League Cup which the hosts went on to win on penalties.
Ozil has not been in the matchday squad for six of Arsenal’s league fixtures this season, and only played in the club’s defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League group stages.
The incident against Manchester City however was the culmination of a disastrous day for the Gunners, who lost 3-0 to Pep Guardiola’s men.
Kevin De Bruyne scored two fantastic goals while the Belgian also set up Raheem Sterling as City got back to winning ways.

There was also further bad news for Freddie Ljungberg, who lost left-back Sead Kolasinac to injury.
The Bosnian’s injury comes a day after the club confirmed fellow full-back Kieran Tierney would miss the next three months with a shoulder injury.
Tierney dislocated his right shoulder in Arsenal’s victory at West Ham last Monday and will undergo surgery in the week.
