Asher Keddie begins production on new comedy drama Strife as she prepares to make her long-awaited return to TV screens

Asher Keddie has begun production on her new comedy drama Strife based on Mia Freedman’s memoir.

The Offspring star, 48, will play the lead role of Evelyn Jones in the new Binge series.

She confirmed in October she will be making her long-awaited return to Australian television by starring in the drama.

The actress said she was thrilled to be returning to her Australian television roots after appearing in several high-profile Hollywood productions.

‘I have been waiting a good four years to make a return to series television. I knew this was it, as soon as the script was brought to me,’ she told The Daily Telegraph at the time.

The seven-time Logie-winning actress said the script’s authenticity hit home for her and she knew she had to sign on.

‘What’s drawn me to it is it’s about not being the perfect person we grew up thinking we needed to be,’ she said.

The mother-of-two added what she loved most about the script was the ‘authenticity of the storytelling’.

Filmmaker Bruna Papandrea, who was behind Nicole Kidman’s Amazon Prime Video streaming hit, Nine Perfect Strangers, will produce the show.
