A London-based fashion designer is paying homage to the New York Mets with a pair of track pants in his latest collection — which cost as much as a premium pair of season tickets to see the National League baseball team.
Ashish is currently selling the ‘Striped Sequin Embellished Track Pants’ for a whopping $2,000.
The pants look like the bottom half of a New York Mets home game uniform, covered in blue pinstripes with the addition of a giant blue and orange logo.
Looking haute for the home team! The London-based designer Ashish is selling these sequined track pants for $2,000
You can get a lot of Cracker Jack for that! The pants appear to have been modeled off the New York Mets’ home game uniform and feature the team’s logo
Swing and a miss? They are part of an entire Mets-inspired outfit which has a pinstripe design and is totally covered in sequins
The ensemble first appeared on the runway in February as part of the designer’s Fall 2017 show
Unlike an actual player’s uniform, though, these pants are completely covered in glittering sequins, making them entirely impractical for any sort of sporting endeavor.
There is a matching a matching shirtdress as well, which is also covered in sequins in a white and blue pinstripe design.
The dress, which costs $2,414, also prominently features the New York Mets’ logo on the front, as well as the black sequined message ‘Unity in Diversity.’
On the back is written ‘Mets’ in blue and orange script, with the words ‘New York’ printed underneath.
It’s unclear how many pieces of each item were initially made, but the online retailer Farfetch appears to be the only one carrying either design — and the site only has one of each left, in size small.
Each item costs much more than the least expensive season tickets offered by the team

The designer also sent a Boston Red Sox-branded outfit down the runway
Fenway fierce! Only the pants are currently available to buy online and cost $1,893
Ta da! Alexander Wang collaborated with Judith Leiber on a new cluch, which looks like a rolled-up wad of $100 bills and is wrapped with a real rubber band
Cash money: Only 20 pieces of the $4,995 bag will be produced, as they are hand-beaded with 10,263 Swarovski crystals and take a week to make
Like most of Ashish’s designs, the Fall 2017 collection features plenty of sequined pieces, including dresses, pants, and T-shirts — which include messages like ‘more glitter less Twitter’ and ‘stay woke’.
In fact, there are track pants that also pay homage to the Boston Red Sox, though they don’t appear to have been modeled off the team’s uniform. They cost $1,893.
Last week, designers Alexander Wang and Judith Leiber also raised eyebrows with a pricey new piece they collaborated on.
The two designers created a $4,995 bag that looks like a roll of $100 bills, and is covered in 10,263 Swarovski crystals and tied with a real rubber band.
The glitzy money-themed clutch will debut at Alexander Wang’s runway show this month, and only 20 will be made and sold in stores.
