Ashley Greene opens up about postpartum journey after welcoming her first child four months earlier

Ashley Greene opened up to her followers on Tuesday with a special Instagram post about her postpartum journey after she welcomed her daughter, Kingsley, four months earlier in September. 

The Twilight alum, 35, explained to her 2 million fans that she had ‘struggled so much just to get through a workout’ but at the same time, was also so ‘proud’ of her body.

The podcast host, who shares her first child with husband, Paul Khoury, also motivated other mothers ‘out there’ and called them ‘warriors.’

The talented actress uploaded a strew of snaps as she posed outdoors while surrounding by lush greenery and trees. 

She donned a pair of dark gray, high-waisted leggings along with a matching sports bra that showed off her progress after staying consistent with a workout regime after having her first child. 

Ashley’s brunette locks were pulled back into a simple ponytail, allowing a few strands to border the sides of her face. 

The Immaculate Room star completed her fitness ensemble by slipping into a pair of black and white Nike sneakers while showcasing The DB Method machine that she has utilized. 

‘I was both exhilarated and humbled when I began my fitness journey post baby,’ the actress penned in the caption, adding, ‘and every day since then remains the same.’

‘I can’t remember a time where I was more frustrated and where I struggled so much just to get through a workout that I used to power through,’ Ashley admitted. ‘But I also can’t remember ever being more PROUD of my body and everything it has done for me.’ 

The Twilight star announced that she was expecting her first child with husband and Australian TV personality, Paul, last year in March. The two lovebirds, who tied the knot in 2018, shared black and white snaps as they held a sonogram in their hands. 

‘I love you more than I’ve ever loved anything and somehow my heart just keeps expanding to love you EVEN more,’ she emotionally penned at the time. ‘I cannot wait to watch you share your light, love, and passion with our baby.’ 

In September, the couple excitedly welcomed their daughter, Kingsley, who is now four-months-old. 

Ashley continued to express on Tuesday, ‘I am dedicated to putting in the work to rebuild a strong base. I am also dedicated to giving myself grace and remaining eternally grateful for the beautiful life my body graciously helped me create and nurture.’

The beauty admitted to her fans that she was beginning to accept that her body will never ‘be quite “the same”‘ and that she was ‘learning to be ok with that.’ 

Ashley further explained that she had personally jumped ‘back into multiple fitness routines’ with The DB Method in order to ‘challenge different parts of my body.’ 

The actress then sent out a motivational message to mothers and to those who also might be facing similar postpartum difficulties, writing, ‘to all the mamas out there- you’re warriors, you’re perfect and you’re allowed to go at your own pace and love every piece of yourself.’ 

She concluded her detailed caption by giving a ‘special thanks to my hubby for being the best and loving me unconditionally…’

The talented star became engaged to Paul in 2016, and the duo said ‘I do’ two years later during a romantic wedding ceremony in San Jose.

Aside from focusing on her growing family, Ashley has also jumped back in front of the camera and will soon appear on the big screen once again. 

She was cast in the upcoming dark comedy, The Retirement Plan, which also stars Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, and Avatar: The Way Of Water actor, Joel David Moore. 

The premise of the film follows Ashley’s character and her daughter who get ‘caught up in a criminal enterprise’ and have to turn to her retired ‘beach bum’ father who lives on the Cayman Islands, played by Cage, for help, according to an IMDB synopsis.  

Although the film is currently finished with post-production, a set premiere date has yet to be revealed.
