Asia Argento fires back at troll who criticized her for not looking grief-stricken in Instagram post

Asia Argento has hit back at an Instagram troll who cruelly criticized her for posting a happy photograph 10 days after her boyfriend Anthony Bourdain’s suicide.

The actress, who described Bourdain as her ‘rock’ in a statement of grief after his shocking death, has been posting morosely on social media since he died in a hotel room in France.

Argento, who, according to her friend Rose McGowan has struggled herself with depression in the past, has now returned to work by filming scenes for The X Factor Italy.

In May, it was announced that she would be joining the talent show as one of its judges.

The photograph she posted was from its set in Turin. She posed with fellow judge, the Italian rapper Fedez, and also shared Instagram stories from backstage.

In the image she shared, she raised her arm above her head and lifted her t-shirt up to reveal her tattooed torso.

Her caption translated roughly to: ‘Last day of auditions in Turin.

‘Thanks to my beloved colleagues: Manuel, Mara and Fedez. Thanks to all the staff of X Factor Italia.

‘I already want a good world.’  She added the hashtags ‘Staying alive’ and ‘werk’.

Most of her fans, including fellow Harvey Weinstein accuser Rose McGowan, lauded her for getting back to work so soon and sharing the image.

One, however, who went under the screen name ‘neveranythingtowear’, said coldly: ‘Doesn’t look like a woman in mourning for her ‘love her rock her protector’ to me!’

Argento, who has made fiery speeches about being allegedly raped by Harvey Weinstein in the past, hit back immediately.

‘You want me to cover my head with ashes and whip my back?

‘There is no right or wrong way to mourn: I have to keep going and stay alive for my children. Ok? OK,’ she said.

She was backed-up by disgusted supporters who attacked the troll until they deleted their comment.

Bourdain took his own life by hanging himself at a hotel in Kaysersberg, France, on June 8.

He and Argento had been together since 2016 after they met while working on his enormously popular food travel show, Parts Unknown.

In her statement on his death, Argento said: ‘Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did.

‘His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated.

‘My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine.’

Argento has posted frequent Instagram stories since Bourdain’s death detailing her grief. She traveled to Berlin in the days after he died where she took comfort in a ‘sisterhood’

In the days since, she has posted quotes from songs and images of her children in her temporary Instagram stories along with messages of her grief and teary-eyed selfies.

Days before Bourdain’s death, Argento was pictured walking around Rome with her friend, journalist Hugo Clement.

The pair were photographed hugging and smiling as they took in the sights.

After Bourdain’s death, McGowan issued a weeping video where she said told of the ‘monster’ of suicide and depression.

She compelled followers to blame depression and mental illness for his death and not, as some had done, cast blame towards Argento for any pain he may have caused.

McGowan then told in an open letter how Argento and the TV chef ‘loved without borders’.

She later shared a message from Argento confirming that she had asked McGowan, the ‘strongest woman’ she knew, to ‘be her voice’ in her time of grief.
