A stunning eco-lodge with cathedral-like windows to enjoy the stunning views of the Scottish Highlands has gone on the market for £450,000.
Aspen Lodge sits in a secluded plot of land in Glenborrodale overlooking Loch Sunart and has been run as a successful holiday let since it was built six years ago.
Designed like a ski lodge, the property has been made as energy-efficient as possible and all the stone and timber used was sourced locally – the Norwegian Spruce tree trunks travelled just four miles from the woodland to the house.

They used all local materials and aimed to make the lodge as energy efficient as possible, installing underfloor heating, a ground source heat pump and solar thermal panels.
Although it has been named after the famous ski resort in Colorado, US, Aspen Lodge is on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsular with panoramic views over Loch Sunart and Glenmore Bay.
The current owners built it as one of three secluded lodges in the stunning location that is also surrounded by hills and wildlife.
They have rented it out at up to £1,325 a week but have now decided to sell it.
On the ground floor Aspen Lodge has an entrance hall, utility room, an en suite bedroom and a large open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room which is mostly double height with a minstrel gallery that has a balcony offering a stunning view in the opposite direction from the loch, and two more bedrooms, both with en suites.
The master bedroom has patio doors leading to the terrace and the bathroom has a rain shower and double spa bath with views of the loch.

‘It has been a very successful holiday let, booked pretty much back to back.. You could continue running it as a holiday let or a B&B or it could equally be a permanent family home
‘The house has the most beautiful views, you can see that it’s offering a really stunning outlook. It is in a very idyllic location, it’s comparatively unspoilt and a haven for wildlife.
‘That combination of peace and tranquility, the wildlife, the views – it’s everything you could want in one place.

‘It is quite unusual to get something like this in that sort of location, the owners built it from scratch.
‘But they’re looking to give themselves an easier life and let somebody else take it over.
‘The two smaller properties are already under offer and we’ve had quite a lot of interest in this one too.’
