Aston Villa ‘target a deal for Federico Chiesa’ but understand the Italy international would need ‘convincing’ as the Juventus winger eyes a summer exit

- Villa like Chiesa but reportedly understand a deal would be difficult to arrange
Aston Villa reportedly want to pursue a deal for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as the club seek to reinforce their squad with proven attacking talent.
Chiesa is recognised as one of Serie A’s most potent attackers and could leave Juventus in search of competing in European football next season.
Villa are keeping tabs on Chiesa and are considering making a move for the Italy international, according to BirminghamLive.
The attacker has two years remaining on his existing contract at Juventus and would represent a significant capture for Villa boss Unai Emery.
However, they are expected to be rivalled by a host of top European sides that are keen to try and lure Chiesa away from Italy this summer.
Chiesa, one of the stars of Italy’s European Championship triumph in 2021, had a difficult season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him side-lined for nearly 10 months.
Federico Chiesa looks set to leave Juventus this summer after reportedly becoming unhappy at the club
Chiesa has starred for the Italian national team in recent seasons and could be set for a move to the Premier League
But his prior performances have seen Liverpool, Newcastle, and Bayern Munich reportedly register their interest in securing a deal for Chiesa.
Italian media report that the player is ‘unhappy’ in Turin and would consider a move elsewhere due to ongoing issues at the club.
Villa could become the fourth side to enter the bidding war for Chiesa who has been quotes as being available for £38million with just two years remaining on his deal.
Such a fee would be affordable for the Midlands-based side, but they apparently understand that convincing him to snub other offers would be a difficult task.

Chiesa further demonstrated his quality by scoring the deciding goal in Italy’s recent Nations League win over the Netherlands.
Once the star of Juventus, Chiesa managed only four goals in all competitions last season as he struggled to regain fitness and was hampered by injury set-backs.
He completed a permanent move to Turin for £36million from Fiorentina in May 2022 after convincing Juventus chiefs that he was good enough during an initial loan spell.
Chiesa at the time was the subject of interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea but a move away from Italy failed to materialise.
