Asus will be releasing a £500 budget Android phone that is claims to be a ‘rip off’ of the iPhone X.
Like other industry leaders, the Zenfone 5Z comes with dual rear cameras, powerful speakers and face unlocking technology.
It even has a notch on the top of its screen used by Apple.
However, company bosses insist they are not copying Apple’s latest release and claim you ‘cannot get away from what users want’.

The phone comes in three models – the ‘premium’ Zenfone 5Z costs around £500 (around $700/AU$885) and will be available later this year in the UK.
The standard Zenfone 5 will be available in the UK this summer (price TBA) and it is not known when the entry-level Zenfont 5Q, also known as the Zenfone 5 Lite (price TBA) will be released.
It is currently not known when the phones will be released in the US or Australia, writes Tech Radar.
‘Some people will say it’s copying Apple,’ said Marcel Campos, Asus’ global head of marketing.
‘But we cannot get away from what users want. You have to follow the trends’, he said.
The Zenfone 5Z has a 6.2-inch display and a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio, which tops the iPhone X’s screen-to-body ratio of 82.9 per cent.
It has an automatic adjustment for colour temperature, similar to the True Tone on the iPhone X and a sensor that keeps the screen on when users look at it.

The company calls this an ‘AI Display’, which is in keeping with a ‘broad definition of AI’, writes The Verge.
The phone weighs 155 grams and can be used with one hand, despite its large screen.
Like the Galaxy S8 and S9 it has glass on both the front and back of the phone. However, it has an LCD instead of an OLED display.
Similar to the iPhone X it has a Face Unlock option, although this is not as sophisticated as Face ID on the iPhone X and there is a fingerprint sensor in case it does not work.
The onboard storage is limited to 64GB with a choice of 4GB or 6GB or RAM.

It also has ‘AI scene detection’ which optimises saturation, white balance, exposure and processing. Over time it learns how you like to edit photos and suggests similar edits.
The phones also have a built-in speaker system and support for AptX HD and LDAC for higher-quality Bluetooth audio built in.
Unlike the iPhone X is does have a headphone jack and the company has created their own emoji which are called Zenimoji.
