At least two people are dead and five more are injured in a shooting that occurred at a park in the Los Angeles neighborhood of San Pedro Sunday. 

The shooting took place at Peck Park in San Pedro at around 3:51 p.m. local time at the 560 block of N. Western Avenue.

Initially, EMS officials in LA said that seven people were shot an injured. 

An LA Fire Department Chief said in a press conference that two of those people have died from their injuries at local hospitals, according to CBS Los Angeles.  

The LAPD said that its Harbor Division responded to the scene after 911 calls reported a shooting.  

The gunfire was apparently heard in the area of a car show happening in the park near a baseball field, LA EMS said.
