Atletico Madrid climbed to fourth in LaLiga as Diego Simeone’s side carved out a convincing 4-1 thrashing against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
Angel Correa’s opener in the ninth minute handed the Spanish giants a 1-0 advantage at the break, before Rodrigo de Paul’s deflected long-shot and Yannick Carrasco’s impressive solo goal put the hosts three ahead.
Although substitute Gabri Veiga clawed one back for the visitors in the 71st minute, Unai Nunez’s own goal all but sealed the victory for Atletico, who made it two wins in two following their Champions League win against Porto in midweek.
