Aussie actor hints Jennifer Coolidge could return for season three of The White Lotus with a very telling response in TV interview

Beloved Aussie actor Rob Carlton is set to star in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus.

The Silver Logie winner, 53, appeared on The Morning Show on Tuesday and confirmed he will be joining the hit series.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Coolidge, who played the ditzy heiress Tanya McQuoid in the first two series, is widely speculated to be making a return despite her character apparently being killed off in series two.

And The Morning Show co-host Kylie Gillies took the opportunity to ask Carlton whether the Emmy winning actress will indeed make an appearance.

‘How was Jennifer Coolidge?’ Gillies asked, getting straight to the point.

Carlton remained coy, unwilling to comment on the matter.

‘That’s something straight out of Law and Order,’ he said referring to Gillies’ slick question.

The actor claimed he had to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) after appearing in the TV megahit.

‘I’m under contractual obligation to not answer… they come out with NDA’s [stating] “you can’t say this, you can’t say that”,’ he revealed.

The Paper Giants star even refused to be drawn into divulging where the series had been filmed, quipping, ‘if it was Thailand, it was beautiful’.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that production on season three had begun in Southeast Asia when the show’s official Instagram shared a snap of a slate being used on the first day of filming on February 13.

The photo was captioned: ‘Unforgettable experiences are in the making at #TheWhiteLotus. We are eager to welcome new guests to our resort in Thailand.’

Actors Natasha Rothwell, Jason Isaacs and Aimee Lou Wood will join Carlton.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnie and Maria Shriver, is set to play a leading role alongside Thai actors Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong.

Hollywood actresses Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan and indie film actress Parker Posey will also appear.

However, fans haven't put it past White Lotus creator Mike White (third from left) to find a crazy plot twist to bring her back and Kylie Gillies took the opportunity to ask Carlton whether the Emmy winning actress will be making an appearance. Season 1 cast pictured

HBO also revealed Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, and The Last Kingdom’s Arnas Fedaravičius have been cast for season three.

Last year, the show’s creator teased that the highly-anticipated third season will be ‘supersized,’ but unfortunately filming was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023.

The Four Seasons Resort on the island of Koh Samui is where season three will be set as the 45-acre hillside resort has been closed to guests since January 29 and been transformed into the new fictional White Lotus Hotel.
