Aussie country music star Adam Brand reveals devastating personal loss after his Gold Coast home was engulfed by flames

Adam Brand opened up on Tuesday about the devastating personal loss he incurred after his Gold Coast home was severely damaged in a fire.

The country music star, 53, told 7News that while several of his music awards had been destroyed in the blaze, the greater loss were the items of sentimental value.

‘I’m more upset about losing my children’s drawings, they mean more to me than the awards,’ he began.

‘The memories and personal treasures lost in the flames are irreplaceable but having my girls safe and unharmed puts everything in perspective.’

Brand has two daughters with his partner Nui, Pepper, four, and Connie, one.

Fortunately, none of the family were injured in the inferno and Brand said that was what really mattered.

‘The firies, they were superheroes. I can’t thank those people enough. They came right up to a burning building to help me. My family are safe and together.’

On Monday, it was reported that Brand was in in ‘surreal shock’ after his Gold Coast home was engulfed in flames.

The inferno ripped through his $2million property in Maudsland around midday as the beloved country music star looked on in horror.

‘This is a moment that shakes you to the core, a stark reminder of the unpredictable journey of life,’ he told 7NEWS.com.au.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokesman said nine crews were initially called after a fire broke out at Brand’s home earlier in the day.

'The memories and personal treasures lost in the flames are irreplaceable but having my girls safe and unharmed puts everything in perspective,' he added

Crews discovered a partial roof collapse when they arrived on scene and spent about 30 minutes extinguishing the blaze.

A family friend told 7NEWS they were on the property when someone started yelling ‘smoke’, before a quick-thinking neighbour called triple-0.

It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to get the blaze under control and significant damage was done to the home.

Investigators are now working to discover the source of the fire on the seven-and-a-half acre property which Brand purchased in September 2021.
